Terms

Terms of use

These terms describe the main conditions for using Scanlink. They are intentionally clear and practical for the current early-stage service operated from Norway.

The service

Scanlink provides dynamic QR code management. Customers can create QR codes, update Link or PDF destinations, and use Scanlink URLs in printed material, menus, campaigns, signs, and other communication.

Customer responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring their destination URLs are accurate, lawful, and safe. QR codes should be tested before they are printed, distributed, or published.

Customers are also responsible for the PDF documents and logo or image files they upload, and for keeping documents and branded QR materials accurate and up to date. By uploading a file, the customer confirms that they have the rights, permissions, and lawful basis needed to store, use, and share its contents.

QR destinations and uploaded files must not be used for pornographic or other adult/XXX content, sexual services, unlawful goods or services, scams, fraud, phishing, malware, harmful downloads, hate or extremist content, or other unlawful, harmful, infringing, malicious, or unauthorized material. They must not violate another party's intellectual property or privacy rights.

File uploads and limits

PDF destinations and saved logos are intended for business QR destinations and branding. The upload features are not a general-purpose file hosting or file sharing service.

The initial Pro version includes up to three stored PDF files per account, a maximum size of 3 MiB per file, and supports PDF files only. Basic does not include PDF uploads. Pro includes up to three saved logos, each no larger than 1 MiB, in PNG, JPEG, or WebP format and up to 2048 × 2048 pixels. File limits may change, and different limits may be agreed for Business customers.

Misuse and security

Scanlink may remove, restrict, or disable uploaded files and QR destinations, or restrict, deactivate, or permanently delete QR codes, files, or accounts, in response to a terms violation, unlawful or infringing content, a security risk, harmful activity, spam, abuse of storage or bandwidth, missing payment, or other conduct that may harm Scanlink, other users, visitors, infrastructure, payment providers, or the service's reputation.

Subscriptions and payment

Basic costs 249 NOK per month and Pro costs 599 NOK per month. The Business plan is offered by agreement. Basic and Pro may include a 14-day trial. Billing and payment are handled through Stripe.

QR links, PDF files, and logo files are not necessarily deleted immediately when billing or subscription access becomes inactive. Public access to QR and PDF destinations and other Pro features may nevertheless be paused until subscription access is active again.

File storage and deletion

Customers may delete uploaded files that are not used by a QR code or scheduled destination. Scanlink may delete files marked for deletion, no longer in use, in breach of these terms, or associated with accounts that have been inactive for an extended period where reasonably required for security or operational purposes.

Manual deactivation and billing pauses

Manually deactivating a QR code is separate from a billing pause. A manually deactivated code may show a deactivation message, while a code without active subscription access may have forwarding temporarily paused.

Availability and early-stage service

Scanlink works to provide a stable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service is currently provided as an MVP and early-stage product.
